| December 2003 --We are nearly to our third anniversary at the
Daily Peloton, so time for an update and a new photo.
A lot has changed since I wrote my "bio" (see below), but a lot hasn't.
Thanks to the dedication and hard work of several "personal tutors," and
quite a bit of study, I have learned a fair amount about professional cycle
racing, though many cycling fans will forget more than I will ever know - if
you ever wonder what a cycling scholar is, then get to know the writers
here, or some of the Daily Peloton's readers.
I bought a bike this spring and now sort of know what Lemond meant when
he said "It never gets easier, you just go faster." And I have actually
almost podiumed in some of Fabio's Fantasy Games. Anyway, I feel like I've
earned my moniker of "Site_Goddess" of the Daily Peloton. If you see
something out of date or missing, that's my department, so write and tell
me!
What strikes me most about the past three years is the number of friends
I now have all over the globe. I have had the incredible good fortune to
become acquainted with many, many people in the cycling community: devoted
fans, dedicated professionals and tremendously talented contributors from
places like the Netherlands, Italy, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Canada,
Denmark, Germany, Iceland, France, Croatia, Australia, New Zealand and the
US, to name a few. Across the board, this is a really remarkable group, and
I have been so fortunate for this opportunity.
I hope you are finding the Daily Peloton useful and interesting - all of
us here devote a great deal of time to bring you what we hope is the best
cycling coverage, and what we would like to read ourselves. If you think
you'd like to write about cycling, you should definitely try your hand, and
muster up your confidence...and write me! In addition, if you have any
comments or suggestions, or if you would just like to say hello, please do
email me at janna@dailypeloton.com.
Best wishes,
Janna
