Tour de France 2018: Tissot honours Brand Ambassador Tony Parker
The NBA basketball star Tony Parker has been honoured by Tissot, Official Timekeeper of the Tour de France. Frenchman Parker was presented with a limited edition Tissot Chrono XL Special Edition Tour de France.
Parker, who recently moved to the NBA's Charlotte Hornets after two decades with the San Antonio Spurs, is also an avid cycling fan and has taken part in training sessions with Katusha Alpecin. Representing Tissot Parker was keen to both highlight Tissot's involvement in cycling and indulge his own interest in the sport.
Tony Parker, NBA player and TISSOT Ambassador: "It was new experience to spend some time with professional cyclists and cycling with them was a unique for me. I knew nothing about the technology behind cycling, changing gears and things like that. This is why I love working with Tissot, we always work on great projects and they help me live these unique experiences. Today was one of these unique experiences for me, and I had a great time."
Marcel Kittel, Team Katusha Alpecin: "I think it is very cool to ride with Tony Parker. For me personally, it is always a great experience to have sports meet each other and to make that happen today, cycling meeting basketball to do something together, is not really what is expected and so it is really cool."
