Thomas takes lead after five stages

Stage 5: Grenoble to Valmorel, 130km

Geraint Thomas becomes the fourth rider to hold the lead at the 70th Critérium du Dauphiné

UAE-Emirates' Dan Martin took a solo win on stage five, but it was second placed Geraint Thomas who maintained Sky's lead in the race with a second place, taking over from teammate Gianni Moscon, with Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) third.

Thomas now has a 1'09" lead over BMC's Daminao Caruso. Moscon is third at 1'10 with Quickstep's Julian Alaphillipe fourth on the same time.
