Spilak wins 81st Tour de Suisse (2.UWT)

Team Katusha - Alpecin's Simon Spilak has won the 2017 Tour de Suisse.

Simon Spilak, who took over the lead of the nine stage race after a solo win on Stage 7, secured victory by a 48" over Damiano Caruso (BMC Racing) with Steven Steven Kruijswijk third at 1'08. It is the 31 year old Slovenian's second win at the Tour de Suiise, the first in 2015.

The final stage, a 28.6km ITT around Schaffhausen went to Aussie Rohan Dennis who also won the opening stage's ITT.

Peter Sagan, with two stage wins to his credit, took the Points Jersey, while Lasse Norman Hansen secured the Mountain Jersey. The team win went to AG2r le Mondiale.

The Tour de Suiise was the last major race ahead of the Tour de France which start this week.
