American Amber Neben will make her debut with her new team Pasta Zara Cogeas Manhattan. The remainder of the team will consist of Italian Giada Borgato and Rossella Callovi, from Lithuanian Inga Cilvinaite, Edita Janeliunaite and Agne Silinyte, American-Austrian Amber Pierce and Salvadoran Evelyn Garcia.

Ms Garcia, a local talent arrives in her home fresh off her 4th place general classification (GC) finish at the Women’s Tour of Costa Rica. She will be favored for sure but others will keep a close watch on her. Pasta Zara Cogeas Manhattan won the team classification in Costa Rica.

The women’s peloton will also include Italians Noemi Cantele and Rosella Callovi, Brasilian Clemilda Fernandes (2012 Women’s Tour of El Salvador winner), Ukrainians Maryna Ivanyuk and Elizaveta Oshurkova.

Stage IV will be where we see the climbers have their day in the sun. This stage is the most difficult of all the stages because it consists of 13 kms/8 miles of climbing through the roads of the Boqueron. This stage will likely split the field because it is the most draining although only 50 kms/30 miles in distance.

The women will battle for 1,500 points as established by the UCI. Overall GC winners will pocket $600. The event total purse is $7,725. There will be team, GC and jerseys awards as well.
