Alberto Contador Arrives, Mark Cavendish Confirms for Saturday Start.

Alberto Contador Arrives
Alberto Contador contests this week with a very special car on Curacao. The Thrifty car rental, Alamo and National have already done since the start of the Amstel Curacao Race car rental for the riders and the organization. When Marin van Eps of Thrifty heard Contador came back to Curaçao, he was so enthusiastic that he had a special car for the two-time Tour winner to use . Van Eps decided to give Alberto his personal car a new Chrysler 300. Van Eps delivered also personally delivered the car to the Tour winner at  Lions Dive & Beach Resort, where a smiling Contador received the car.

 "This typifies the kindness of many people in Curaçao," said Contador. Which why I feel so at comfortable here. I'm glad I'm back on the island. And of course I will be careful in the car. "

Mark Cavendish Confirms Attendance
Top sprinter Mark Cavendish will be at the start of the Amstel Curaçao Race on Saturday. The six time Tour stage winner agreed to  come  immediately after the Tour de France, but only ten months ago, a good friend of his went into a coma after an accident. From that moment it was doubtful if the British rider wanted to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Yesterday morning he made the decision to to come. Cavendish, who also won Milan-Sanremo this year is another top pro rider course director Leo van Vliet managed to contract this year. He joins Alberto Contador, the brothers Andy and Frank Schleck and green jersey winner Thor Hushovd at the party.

Amstel Curacao Race ensures to 2011
The main sponsors of the Amstel Curaçao Race, the CTB and Amstel Bier, have decided definitely to continue its sponsorship through  the 10th edition of the cycling race. This means that the future of the race to 2011 is assured. The CTB stressed again that the cycling event generates tremendous exposure and that in this week about six hundred tourists were on holiday especially for the Amstel Curaçao Race on the island. Yorick at Houte de Lange said that the company on behalf Amstel Beer only be proud that their name is associated with this competition that a highly successful professional organization.

The organization was announced at the press conference that for the tenth anniversary edition in 2011 will be made in all highlights, good stories and colorful pictures of the Amstel Curaçao Race.
