champion Cadel Evans has decided to invoke the clause of the mutual agreement
which provides him the possibility to ride the next season to another team.
After five successful years, including two podium places in the Tour de France;
one in the Vuelta a España and the recent victory in Mendrisio, Cadel has
decided to take advantage of his increased market value and to look for new
challenges.
Silence-Lotto is proud of the progress Cadel made in our team - from a rough
time hanks to the professional entourage and the good teamwork to rise to the
absolute top of the world in five years.
The team wishes him all the best for his further career. Success in your
beautiful rainbow jersey!

Omega Pharma and Lotto have the aim to bring talent to full maturity in a
consistent and honest way. It is part of the game, that once the summit is
reached, the cyclists sometimes decide to explore other horizons.
Though this is never pleasant for our team, it demonstrates the success of
our project, and it opens perspectives for the many talented cyclists who are
bursting with impatience, ready to discover their limits and to take over the

Persbericht Silence-Lotto: Cadel Evans verlaat het
team
Wereldkampioen Cadel Evans heeft beslist om een clausule in het onderling
contract in te roepen, en aldus de mogelijkheid te hebben volgend jaar voor een
ander team te rijden. Na 5 succesvolle jaren, met o.a. 2 podiumplaatsen in de
Tour de France en de recente overwinning in Mendrisio, heeft Cadel besloten
voordeel te halen uit zijn verhoogde marktwaarde en uit te kijken naar nieuwe
uitdagingen.
Silence-Lotto is fier op de evolutie die Cadel in ons team kon verwezenlijken,
vanuit het dal op 5 jaar tot de absolute wereldtop mede dankzij de professionele
omkadering en de goede samenwerking met de hele ploeg, en wenst Cadel alle
succes voor zijn verdere carrière. Het gaat hem goed in de mooie regenboogtrui!
Het hoort tot de doelstellingen van Omega Pharma en Lotto om talent te doen
ontbolsteren op continue en eerlijke wijze; daarbij hoort dat, eenmaal de top
bereikt, soms door renners andere horizonten worden opgezocht.
Alhoewel dit voor ons team nooit aangenaam is, bewijst dit steeds het
welslagen van ons project, en opent dit perspectief voor het vele talent dat
staat te trappelen, klaarstaand om hun eigen limieten te ontdekken en de fakkel
over te nemen.
Omega Pharma-Lotto, gesteund door alle sponsors, zal voor 2010 en zeker voor
2011, verder uitkijken naar versterkingen die passen in de sportieve en ethische
ambities van het team!
