| My love of cycling started in college with my first "real bike," a
cherry red Schwinn LeTour that got me around
Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio,
stylishly. Unfortunately, it was stolen a mere year later, initiating my
search for a new steed. I found a good deal on a royal blue Cannondale,
decked out in 105.

| With such a great bike, I decided to explore the wonderful world of the
USCF with the Miami Flyers.
I succeeded in making it to Collegiate Nationals and did much better there
than on my grade card that year. The next term I was sidelined by the need
to work. I put cycling on the back burner for a few years and am back now,
racing for the Summit
Freewheelers, on a Specialized Allez.

| I’ve got my USCF club coaching license and tried my hand at race
directing as well this past fall. Writing about what I love has been a dream
come true for me. I will always be indebted to Vaughn & Janna for giving me
that chance. Thank you!
